Third Quarter Full-Court Press!

March is an exciting time of the year! March is Women's History Month and one of my favorite months of the year because the start of the spring season (my favorite season of the year) begins in March! Another highlight of the month is the much anticipated college basketball tournaments, March Madness!! March madness features both women and men's college basketball teams as they compete for the ultimate victory of being named the NCAA National Basketball Champions!! In honor of March Madness, I had to share this throwback photo of me when I played basketball for Wynne Jr. High School!!

Playing basketball was so fun and exhilarating! I loved every minute of my time playing a game that I love so much. Although my basketball career was short-lived, I learned a lot of lessons that can be used on and off the court. Those lessons have remained with me many years later. One thing in particular comes to mind is the strategy of a full-court press. Many will know what a full-court press is, but for those not familiar with the basketball strategy, it is an all-out effort or defense system to ensure all of the court is covered. I titled this blog post Third Quarter Full-Court Press in honor of March Madness and to also remind us that we are in the third month of the year. We still have a great deal of the year ahead of us, but we must remember that if we want to meet our goals, we have to be intentional about making the most of the time in each month, each quarter, each season, and each year. What we do in the month of March, the third month, will help set the tone and establish a strong foundation for our plans for the rest of the year. Which is why we must implement a FULL-COURT PRESS!!!

The major advantage of the full-court press strategy is the ability to disrupt the rhythm and flow of the offense. You must employ a full-court press strategy to triumph over your opposition. Don't allow circumstances to dictate the flow of your progress. By implementing a full-court press strategy, you will determine the rhythm and flow of what you experience in life. The opposition for you may be distractions, financial obstacles, health challenges, relationship setbacks, burnout, exhaustion, or all of the above. I understand that "life be lifing," yet, in the midst of all of that, there is a champion in you built to overcome difficult moments and challenging seasons. So, my encouragement to you this week is to use a full-court press strategy to help you push through the remaining minutes and win in the game of life this month, this quarter, and this year!

Until next time,

L.Walker
