This Time Will Be Different!

This is not my first blog...

In 2014, I started my first blog on Tumblr. The name of the blog site was LeaderTips by L. Walker. My first post was written in Glasgow, Scotland. I initially started it as a travel blog and made quite a few entries during my doctoral international studies trip to Europe. Upon my return, I decided to focus on my journey as a leader. I blogged sporadically over the next two years, until 2016. I tried several times to keep up with it, but my life was too busy with work, raising two middle school age daughters, and completing my doctoral program. Needless to say, my first blog attempt was short lived.

2020 Personal Blog Posts: Life Lessons with LaShante

In 2020, I revived my blog attempt and blogged for 7 days on my personal website leading up to National Day of Prayer. All the posts were focused on prayer and faith. I received great feedback from the blog posts and was encouraged to continue blogging, but again, my life was too full as I was busily trying to get my new business off the ground. I had just started Walker Vision Consulting Inc 4 months earlier, and I kept reminding myself that as a full-time entrepreneur, I could NOT FAIL! Which meant I was working day and night trying to market and make my new business work! In hindsight, I really should have been blogging about my entrepreneurial journey, LOL! Although, I wish I had started sharing more about my journey in business several years ago....it's never too late! So... 4 years and a 1 month after starting my consulting business, I'M BACK and ready to blog!!!!

It's 2024, and things are different. Life is different for me. I recently celebrated my 4th year as a full-time entrepreneur! YAAAY!!!! I have a good rhythm in my business and life. It's time to rekindle my fire for writing and blogging! So, starting today, each Friday I will have an updated blog post. My business blog site is Visionary Voice! Let my third attempt at blogging be encouragement to you to not see your former attempts as failure, but simply see them as practice runs to get you prepared for the time when you are fully ready to nurture the vision you are carrying inside.

Here's my challenge to you: Revisit a project, goal, dream, or vision that may be dormant and ask yourself if you have the capacity to give time and energy to it. If you recognize that now is the time to start again, DO IT! Remember: This Time Will Be Different!!!
